Following on from our recent post looking at Architectural Practices in Hampshire, we thought we would create another list but this time concentrating on well-respected designers who are located closer to us, so this time we are looking at those who are have studios located in Surrey. 

Surrey covers many interesting and diverse landscapes, with the north of the county forming part of the Greater London Built Up Area which is in stark contrast to the south-west of the county which contains the beautiful, rural Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This variety offers a great mix of inspiration, which explains why there are so many quality design practices located close to us. 

So, if, for whatever reason, George & James do not fit your criteria for an architect, here are some that we admire (in no particular order):

Haslemere Architects

Haslemere is a charming, historic market town in the south west of Surrey, we can well understand why so many brilliant designers and architects are drawn to this wonderful setting to set up their studio.

Ian Adam-Smith - Architects 
This practice specialise traditional 'English Country House' architecture, working on residential projects mainly across West Sussex, Hampshire & Surrey.

One-World Design Architects 
A multiple award winning practice, One World Design Architects create sustainable homes, green infrastructure and buildings that complement the natural environment and local ecology. With a focus on delivering sustainable, elegant and practical built solutions that meet their client’s needs. Their designs add value through efficient space planning and seek out opportunities for energy reduction and renewable energy production.

Christiansen Architects 
This design practice focus on creating calm and unique spaces with an aim of incorporating natural materials and light to create remarkable homes for everyday life.

Farnham Architects

The town of Farnham has a deep creative vein, with a long history of arts and crafts in and around the town. It is also home to the specialist University of Creative Arts, which was originally established in 1856.

DMS Architects 
DMS specialise in residential projects, working for individual home owners through to bespoke developers on a variety of schemes from domestic extensions, one off new build houses to large multi number housing developments. 

OSP Architecture
An established practice with offices in Farnham and Bristol, they specialise in residential developments for large housebuilders, conservation work and commercial projects in the South East and South West of England.

Adapt Architecture
Adapt Architecture have a goal to design: ergonomically, economically and ecologically. They create architecture that works for each individual project, never losing sight that architecture has to fulfil a function. 

Guildford Architects

Guildford is a vibrant town, often featuring in 'Best Places to Live' lists as it offers a great mix of dynamic city living, with a more relaxed rural, country life.  

Scott Brownrigg
A larger design practice, they work internationally and work across architecture, masterplanning, urbanism and interior design sectors. The ethos of their business is to create something fit for purpose but also beautiful, surprising and timeless.

James Williamson Architects
James Williamson Architects design spaces that are beautiful, adaptable, sustainable and unique. They believe that great design is about more than just aesthetics– it's about creating spaces that are functional, energy-efficient, and environmentally responsible. 

Flowitt Architects
Originally established in 1970, Flowitt Architects have made their name in providing a personalised service with a flair for the creative across a wide range of projects, from barn conversions to new builds.

The thriving, pretty market town of Godalming is located on the River Wye, a charming place with lots of interest and plenty of design practices to investigate.

Mitchell Evans
A medium sized architectural practice founded in 1991,  they have experience managing a diverse range of architectural projects including design, planning permissions and Listed building consents. They believe good design responds to context whilst adopting innovative solutions.

Nye Saunders Archtiects
Nye Saunders offers the full range of architectural services to assist their clients from inception of a project to handover of the completed building.  They like to look at projects differently and find creative solutions to practical problems, offering a unique combination of dynamic and forward-thinking creative designs.

MVL Architects and Surveyors
MVL is a family run practice that was first established in 1976.  They provide acclaimed design on a large range of different projects including domestic residential, commercial, educational, community, refurbishment and regeneration projects.
