We are lucky to be based in an area with a rich thread of art and architecture, which is reflected in the number of outstanding designers whom we admire, to be found in close proximity to us. 

Designing your home, or workplace, is such a personal journey and we understand that we might not be the exact fit for everyone. With this in mind we thought we should share some alternative design practices that we admire. 

We are located just on the border of Hampshire, a rich county which includes aspects of the South Downs National Park, the New Forest National Park and boasts 230 miles of beautiful coastline. 

First up here are some architectural practices in Hampshire, in no particular order:

Petersfield Architects

Petersfield, often referred to as the Gateway to the South Downs National Park, is a very pretty market town in east Hampshire, just 10 miles from our studio in Midhurst. The lively town has a lot to offer, with weekly markets and annual festivals – you can read more about the town here. 

Noel Wright Architects

Noel Wright Architects is a small, award-winning RIBA Chartered Practice. They focus on producing inspiring design and thoroughly considered work that incorporates their ethos, experience and skills to create holistic, highly performing, comfortable, low energy buildings of good lasting quality. The practice typically works with the end users of the project to develop bespoke solutions to fit their requirements and aspirations. 

Re-Format Architects

Re-Format is an established, successful and approachable multi-disciplinary architectural studio, with a passion for delivering contemporary, sensitive and intelligent design solutions. They work across the UK on a variety of projects, include bespoke homes, housing developments, commercial schemes, community regeneration and education projects.

Ingham Thomas Architects

Ingham Thomas Architects Ltd is an architectural practice with expertise in creating bespoke homes for private clients, they have established a reputation for designing and delivering beautifully detailed buildings, including some award-winning schemes.

Winchester Architects

Winchester is a vibrant cathedral city, with a rich medieval history which is situated right on the edge of the South Downs National Park and just under an hour on the train directly from London. 

Design Engine

Paul Cashin Architects bring value, comfort and meaning through design. Founded in 2012 the architecture practice works across the south coast of England, Hampshire, including the New Forest, the South Downs National Park, Dorset, West Sussex, Surrey and Devon. They have experience of delivering contemporary projects in sensitive areas such as in national parks, conservation areas and involving listed or heritage buildings.

As a practice they specialises in modern, thoughtful and sensitive building and design projects of multiple sizes and sectors, including: the private residential sector, commercial sector and development schemes.

Alton, Hampshire

Alton is a pretty market town and civil parish in the East Hampshire district of Hampshire, England, near the source of the River Wey and just to the east of Winchester.

Portsmouth skyline architecture

Portsmouth, Hampshire

Portsmouth is a compact coastal city, mainly located on Portsea Island the city has a long naval history. The centuries of maritime heritage are clearly visible, with the historic dockyards (containing the impressively well preserved Tudor Mary Rose and HMS Victory) up to the current, working navy base. The city is also home to stunning Spinnaker Tower, a 170 meter high observation tower located on the waterfront, a beacon that offers views across the Solent.

Incollective Works

Incollective Works have worked on all kinds of buildings, big, medium and small, providing management and support from self build architecture to planning permission.
